I think the bigger question is....why do some people remain "fans" of an artist if all they're gonna do is criticize them? There are some people here who claim to be "fans" of certain artists, but all they do is bitch and complain about their new music, their tours, etc. If an artist no longer makes the type of music you want them to,get rid of their CD and move on! Stop clicking on the threads devoted to that artist if all you're gonna do is bitch, whine and complain.Find a "replacement" artist to listen to instead. If I were a recording artist,I would tell all the whiny, intolerable fans to kiss my ass lol

It's just another way of venting their jealousy when one artist is doing well and their favorite artist is living low.

I usually don't. But sometimes I get curious what all the fuss is about if I see that it has like 100 replies and 600 views or something.

It's like a car crash. You can't NOT look as you pass by it.

BLeh. Yeah right. Man-Donna being better than Prince. So what about all the P fans who bitch about all the teeny bopper pop music makers? That doesn't make them any better than the people who don't like Man-Donna or Kylie or *insert gay icon or musician who's supposed to be so great and all their fans think they're better than everyone else because they listen to them here*.

why are you forcing your perception of "fan" on others? is it a personal attack on your own appreciation for the artist?

Maybe I was a little harsh, but I just feel that...being a "fan" of an artist generally means that you enjoy and appreciate their music.Of course, you're not gonna like everything they do,but I just can't imagine sticking around if they're not making me happy anymore. We have this same discussion in the Prince:Music and More forum all the time. Why go to a concert if you're just gonna complain about it? Why buy a new CD if you're just gonna complain that it's "not as good as their older stuff"? There have been many artists that I gave up on years ago. It's actually an easy thing to do,lol.

and how does one before hand if they are going to like the output? do you close your eyes and invision it? no...you experience it.

art is a commodity, its created to be scrutinized and judged. the artist creates a product that is personal to each and every one individiual. the reaction is unique because of each individual's perspective. one person should never feel threatened by another's critique, period.

others may pre-screen an album or listen to gossip but not all..i'd much rather experience and judge the art on my own...thats me...it doesnt have to be you. doesnt have to be that way with everyone else...thats just me.

topics that interest me by noon on an average day.

and i need something to bridge noon till i leave my
work so that's when i dive into topics that i would
normally not look at

i don't hate tho. not too much anyway.
