Because I want to let everybody knows that Shakira is not a genius, and that she is not the best rock en español artist ever. She is not, not, not.

Certain people, like analytic and/or anal-retentive (not to mention internet-addicted) geeks such as myself, just like to bitch on the occasion. And most of the time, when we bitch, it's not like we truly, madly, deeply (no corny Savage Garden pun intended) feel what we're saying... we're just what you'd call casually bitching and expressing our opinions, and having fun in doing so, especially when we gather other people's opinions regarding the subject. I honestly don't see the problem.
And why do some so-called fans of an artist stick around if they're not fans of most, if not all, of what the artist does or puts out today? A lot of the time, it's because they're simply being objective and having faith in the artist, believing they can do better, moreso if they're a huge fan of the artist's work during his/her prime (such as with me and Prince).

Interesting question. I never do that and don´t understand why pll do that. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I agree with this. It is "ok" not to like an artist and say so. People shouldn't worry so much about "hurting" another's feelings for not agreeing with them. For example, I don't feel like I should always have to keep my mouth shut when I don't like an artist. It's just an opinion. But at least I try to explain WHY I might not like someone, and not just state something stupid like "They suck ass!" and leave it at that. I do however think that when people start singling out certain people ALL the time for whoever (whomever? ) they happen to love, berating them for it, and just not letting it rest, that it gets a bit tired. (just speaking from experience here ) I used to bitch a lot more about artists I could not stand, but now I just tend to ignore threads about them instead. It's just a waste of time. Then again, I never really was one to post much just to make fun of another's tastes. Except perhaps to laugh at oh, say, thesexofit for loving Joey Lawrence for example. I just can't help myself sometimes. It's only human. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

At the end of the day everybody's got their 2 cents - drop your change & keep it movin'

Actually, I didn't think specifically about one particular orger, but now that you mention it..... oh, but it's true that sometimes some "artists" really DO just suck ass, and that's all that can be said. Why the hell shouldn't I click on them?

If it's an artist that I could take or leave or someone whose music I simply don't care for, I usually don't even click on the thread. However, if it's an artist that I truly can't stand, of course I'm going to voice an opinion. Duh....that's what you do when you don't like someone.....you talk about them.....and you talk about them really bad. Andy is a four letter word.
