I'm beginning to think that maybe they are friends because why is Michael Jackson imitating Prince so much and then Michael was a Jehovah Whitness and now Prince is. What's going on? Next will we see them having dinner together and starting a new record company/film company?

I just dont like the guy (Mr MJ that is)
Going from what Ive read on here, there doesnt seem to be any bad blood.
And I just want to say to Suby that Prince in my opinion is not ugly. Michael looks like a freak. Butt effing ugly, with zero sex appeal. And he is still sporting the same tired dance moves and socks.
No comparison really.

i did not say about mj's looks. i think he is kinda ugly.
those socks are his logo.
the symbol combined with the female and male is prince's.
what does prince support? girlish clothes and a hoop earring until his new religion.

mj is kinda sporting but did u not see mj perform live on his tribute show, ya know when rock my world was playing. he was doing something new and different.
mj has a good personlaity. he seems nice and loveable.
i guess that is his sex appeal. he looked very nice to me YANA. (YOU ARE NOT ALONE).

AND,even if MJ's grandfather WASN'T really named "Prince",Michael is free to use that name for his son, just as anybody else is.Prince does not own that name! And besides,in 1997 (when MJ's son was born),Prince himself wasn't even using that name anymore:)

Oh please, my son's name is 'Prince Khalid' and he get along wit kids/ppl just fine what're you talking about???

Another name which is Amir'?ustlove'Thompson(The roots drummer-Neo soul artists drummer) Amir means PRINCE in Arabic. My friend's husbend called 'Prince' 'period' and ppl call him that ALL THE TIME and sometimes his boys make fun of him and call him 'Yo kid'.

And being 'normal' depend on how do you act wit ppl and not by your name!!!

Peace & God bless!!

Harlepolis , you are a "normal" parent, I mean your child has ordinaries friends, he lives in the reality, you are not "king/"queen" of anything, no journalist after your family... meanwhile I think that it might a very "heavy" name to bear for a child.

99% of children in the world doesn't take their names so seriously LOL shit, some of 'em don't know their meanings either.

As 4 king/queen type o' thang well what about our PRINCE his father/mother weren't queen/king LOL they were some colored folks who lived the 50's days in a very strict state where the racist white ppl live. And the way he behave was the result of how did he grew up in his childhood.

I like Prince and Michael both Prince more But I like them both a great deal . They are both great artist but who cares if they like each other not everyone is gonna like you. Just because Prince is better than Michael doesn't make Michael "washed up"

Come on, you know what I mean, it's a bit cruel for a "Prince" & to be, let's say a grocer (I have nothing against the grocer)
m jackson will not allow his children to grow to become adults but he will make them, as I can see (he has virtually bought them to their mother$), live a fantasy never-nowhere land like him.
& I think that it's cruel & unfair, kids are not toys.

In public Jackson (Out of pride perhaps) has rarely addressed his feelings on Prince. Only got behind scenes reports to go on...

Like Barry Gibb's account of MJ crying on his shoulder, repeatedly asking "Who do you think is better me or Prince?". Barry was shocked the self proclaimed "King Of Pop" had so many self-doubt issues about his abilities.

He always wanted a hit film like "Purple Rain" so some resentment was inevitable I guess. Could still happen maybe, reportedly some movies in the works for Neverland's finest. lol

Michael Jackson has always been a Prince fan and he's never tried to hide that fact.I don't know you why people STILL wanna believe there's some "rivalry" going on between the two of them.I guess, like little kids, you enjoy playing this silly game of "My daddy is better than yours"...lol...be sure to put your toys away when you're done!

As for Michael being jealous of the 'Purple Rain' film...MJ has an album ('Thriller') that sold over 50 million copies worldwide. No other artist has had that much success with a single album.

Nah I wasn't playing on a "rivalry". Prince rarely speaks on MJ conversely, I just answered the thread question in relation to MJ's feelings on P.

50m Thriller sales or no he wants/wanted a hit film.

While I don't believe there is really a full-blown "rivalry" between Prince and MJ,there has been a little friction in the past.In the 80s,both artists were clearly fans of each other. They both attended each others' concerts, and even played a friendly game of ping-pong together during a 1986 meeting. In 1987,MJ invited Prince to sing on his song "Bad",which Prince declined. But he did send Mike a tape of the song "Wouldn't U Love To Love Me" for inclusion on the "Bad" album.Even though Michael rejected the song, the two seemed to be on good terms as the 80s decade came to a close.Prince even added MJ's song "The Way You Make Me Feel" to some of his "Lovesexy" shows as part of an "Eighties Medley".

In his 1990 Rolling Stone cover story interview,Prince made a favorable mention of MJ (the writer asked him about other artists that he listens to). However,a year or so later,Michael began identifying himself as "The King Of Pop".This apparently did not sit well with Prince. The 1992 song "My Name Is Prince" is a blistering attack on Michael, with scathing lyrics like "U must become a Prince before you're king anyway" and "fancy clothes will save your face...".Then,in 1997,Michael named his first child "Prince",only months after Prince and Mayte's own baby died. This prompted Prince to write the song "Fascination",which features another angry lyric directed at Michael..."So-called King gives birth to so-called Prince".

I think though,in the past few years, the two are on better terms with each other. In 1999,Michael once again asked Prince to collaborate with him.Prince refused, but he has played MJ's song "Billie Jean" at a few recent performances.

Any questions? smile

Yeah why did you sugarcoat their history? Especially when P allegedly hit the "Ping Pong" ball into MJ's crotch on purpose. lol
