I saw Ledisi on Friday night. I had listened to some of her recordings, but this was the first time seeing her live.

Amazing.

I can think of very few working singers with the vocal range and control of this woman. She is also a very engaging performer.

On average, I think her songs are good, but not great (at least those I have heard). A few are very good, however.

She anounced she was about to sign a deal with a major. I will definitely be buying.

She's a dynamo! She works the crowd like very few! AWESOME! Her CD "Soulsinger" is THE SHIT! And Namepeace hooked me up with her jazz release "Feeling Orange But Sometimes Blue" (Hence my avatar! THANX, NAMEPEACE!). She gets NO PROPS but then again, I'm not shocked. I'm still waiting for her to drop her 2nd CD "Carnivale."
