It made me feel patriotic...and I'm not even American.
I once heard someone do a bit called "If Hendrix Was Canadian", doing our anthem on electric guitar. Ah, if only! "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Thought it was a bunch of noise

In bits of it, yeah. But that was the idea. That "bunch of noise" was meant to be the rockets and bombs in the anthem. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I lost my virginty to Jimi's version of "The Banner". It was on TV in the background...(Thanks Jimi).

For me, it was the aural equivalent of being thrust in the middle of a fire fight in Vietnam...bombs, explosions goin' off...that's what it still reminds me of...like he once said, "I'm just playing what's in the air these days...there's alot of static lately, or haven't you noticed?"

No patriotism.
Just an amazing revelation as to what is sonically possible with an electric guitar in the right hands. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
