Raphael Saadiq - PRODUCER

I was never crazy about the Toni's (though I dug "Babydoll" back in the day!), & I never could get w/ his voice. It's okay but just doesn't do it for me boxed Wasn't crazy about Lucy Pearl lol

BUT the boy got skills when it comes to producing! love

I'm LOVING his cut on Mary's new album: "I Found My Everything"

LOVED his track on Macy's The ID: "Don't Come Around"

Bilal's "Soul Sista"

D'Angelo's "Lady"

Fuck, even the brief but nice "Boogie Man Song" on Mos Def's album lol

Hip me to some more of his credits & other shit of his I need to hear. Maybe I should check out his album & try to forgive that whine in his voice giggle That Mary song is killin' me right now though, I'm loving his shit nod
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

weird you posted this. I just got (another) used copy of Lucy Pearl cd for $1 and when I listened to it for the second time. I really kinda like it.

Why did I hate it so much when it came out? I remember not liking it at all. Is it because I am now 'all growed up'? I really like all the songs except one.

gosh i just love this man!!! 3T was my shit, I got every album they had. I love him as a producer as well, I think him and D'Angelo just mesh well together...

but i didn't know he produced Bilal's Soul Sista too, i loved that song!!!

My thing is his albums aren't all that great to me. I mean i can listen to the Lucy Pearl album straight all day long, and the 3T albums as well, but with his solo efforts, I find myself skipping around here and there. He has some great songs, and lord knows he's a great talent, but his solo efforts i just can't sit straight through....

I love his voice, i think it speaks for the sensitive men out there...

He produced some songs on Earth Wind and Fire's Illumination that are nice.

I didn't like Lucy Pearl when I heard it either. I've only listened to it once. I think I'll check it out again today.

Hands down he's probably the best producer in R&B right now. He's currently working with Lionel Richie. After hearing his production for EWF and the Isley's, this should be interesting.

The Godfather of the Neo Soul Movement...he's also done tracks for Leela James, he did Angie Stone's "Brother" and D's "Untitled" a well. He's about to start working with Angie Stone, D'Angelo and Musiq for their new albums and last year he produced cuts for Jill Scott, Kelis, the Isley Brothers, Mos Def, Teedra Moses, as well as Tupac Shakur’s latest posthumous album LOYAL TO THE GAME.

Dude is the MUTHAFUCKIN' MAN and gets NO props for it. Damn shame.

How can yall not like 3T? Come on now the whole Sons of Soul album even House of Music. I like about 3 songs on Instant Vintage. And I couldn't even tolerate Ray Ray. I like his production like around 2000 abnd before ie. Total's "Kissing You", Ask of You (his best song he sung solo), and Get Involved off the PJ's soundtrack. And as of recently Teedra Mosses "Take Me" One thing I liked about 3T was that the lyrics were really romantic and as a band they were kinda tounge in cheek. You could always count on a great string arrangement in the background. Now his song seem like the kind of stay in one place like Jaguar Wright's "One More Drink". But oh yeah I liked "Show Me The Way" on EWF's album. I guess he kinda of a hit or miss these day. But I'll always looove me some him, Raphael oh yeah.

I just picked up Leela's album last week, I'll be digging into that soon...

"Brother" was nice, & it's hard for Angie to impress me lol

Forgot about "Untitled", which I LOVED!

What did he do for Jill?
