Do you have a record player? I wonder how many of you have a record player? Do you buy LP records?

My brand x record player has served me faithfully for over 15 years. I don't really buy LPs anymore however, and focus more on 12" singles. I love 12" singles.

I`m thinking of getting one simply because i want to listen to records that haven`t been released as CDs. There`s so many 70s albums i would love to hear, like the old Aretha Franklin albums that Rhino left out when they released her music on compact discs.

i have a little stand-alone antique looking turntable that i got for xmas one year and hardly ever listen to. sometimes when i'm out thrifting and i find a really cool old tacky LP, i'll buy it and listen to it. but that's a rare event.

yeah, I still have my Fisher Price one. My first album was a Smurfs album. I had to share it with my brothers. My parents have the one that I really want though. They never use it anymore, so it's pretty much mine. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I knew you guys appreciate the good old record players
My father have an old, that haven`t been used in over 20 years, i don`t even know if it works anymore :hmmm2: Like i said, what i think is so great about having one is that you can listen to music that`s not available on CD. I haven`t used a recordplayer before, but isn`t it difficult to skip tracks?

I haven`t used a recordplayer before, but isn`t it difficult to skip tracks? Is that a serious question? Just lift the needle up at the end of a song and drop it at the beginning of the next song you want to hear. The gaps between tracks are clearly visible on vinyl--even Lovesexy.

Yep.
Got myself one of those 30 year old, big-ass furniture pieces that we've had forever and a day. Also have a few hundred or so vinyls I inherited from my dad. I don't need to buy any of those Time Life CD collections, because I already own the best of all genres of music from the '60's and'70's. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I had one when I was a teen. One of those that had a dual cassette deck attached. During that time I was a 45 and 12 fiend. I bought a few LP's...but prefered cassettes. Due to the dual cassette deck, I was able to make many comps on cassette from my 45 and 12" purchases. Then it broke. Then I moved out and was just a cassette boy.
After several years I was able to afford a stereo system. I wanted 2 things...a receiver that had more inputs that you could shake a stick at and a record player. I use it often enough now. I also make it a point to look for vinyl when I go music shopping. I have several rare pieces of vinyl. Christian Zombie Vampires
