Justin Timberlake's 2nd Solo Album

Lots of people probably digged "Justified" (I did, it has a very "MJ" feel to it.) So it is clear that Nsync won't be getting back together. (It is probably better that way. One less boyband in the world to worry about being annoyed by I suppose.)

So does anyone know if and when Justin plans to release another solo disc and any info about it? eek

This spells trouble..Pharrell was behind most of the tracks I liked. Sounds like "Justified" will be Justin's last album in my book. mad

Not to wish bad things on the dude, cus I like his voice, but I think him trying to do more of a rock thing won't be a good idea. It didn't work for Nick Carter. Why should Justin be any different? All though, I'd pick Justin over Nick anyday.

I like Justified, but he has had way too much "down time". Nipplegate was like 2 years ago, and he hasn't done anything since then to change people's minds about him.

He released "I'm Lovin' It" as an EP thingy online. Beyond that, He did "Signs" with Snoop, but other than that, I think you are right.

You're right. I just don't think he has won back alot of people.

I know this because I'm very unpopular when I play his record! lol

I can't believe Rick Rubin is working with him... Must of delivered three truckloads of money to his house or something.

Rick Rubin's strong suit is getting down to the marrow of an artist, so I guess we'll see what Justin is actually about on this next record.

Probably just about bitchin about being followed like Lindsey Lohan and all those other teenage/20 something celebrity singers/actors.

Besides, he doesn't have the Britney breakup to bitch about anymore.

Maybe he can do a song saying what a jerk he is for screwing Janet over.

I can't stand Timberlake. Maybe it's leftover boyband rivalry, (I've made my boyband preferences known here before. It's obviously not *N SYNC I prefer. lol ) or maybe it's that his music is a cheap MJ imitation, I don't know. shrug

The nipplegate incident didn't help my opinion of him at all. Whether or not it was on purpose, he should've shared the blame for it instead of dumping it all on Janet. hmph!

While I like Nsync more than The Backstreet Boys, and other bands (Not counting The Jackson Five) And while I liked Justified, it seems that Justin's new album might be going in a direction, I don't care for. Anyways..I agree with your remarks about dumping it on Janet. That was wrong of him. He should have shared the blame. He was totally up there with her.

I've got my preferences, and you've got yours. So not getting into the boyband debate; that's so 1999. lol

Needless to say, I thought Timberlake was an annoying prat even before he did the solo thing, but the 2nd-rate copy and paste music and especially the Super Bowl incident made up my mind. nod

i cant see him doing that male avril type of sound.i bet he'd try and go for the acoustic singer/songwriter vibe to get some cred.if he doesnt try to hard in that department he might get somewhere with a few tracks.

nod Who knows....a different style might work for Timberlake if he approaches it right.

I think that was Carter's problem; trying too hard. I've been watching that kid perform for years, and I know he could've done much better than that BoyAvril thing he ended up with.

I'm sure there's some crazy psychological reason my mind insists on calling Carter a kid even though he's 5 years my senior....hmmm lol

Nick's was cute but not that good. It was like a BoyAvril without trying to pretend it was anything skate or punk, I guess. He was supposed to be working on a 2nd album with Tommy Lee, of all people (look up the sushi incident -it's something special. lol )but that deal fell through.

Brian's releasing a Christian album sometime this spring. Can't say I'm thrilled to hear it, becase when Brian writes songs they turn sugary and nonsensical real fast. Check out the lyrics to "That's What She Said". They don't make any sense.

I agree on AJ. Supposedly he'd done some writing to kill time in rehab and it'd be interesting to hear some of that. And there's some pretty persistant rumours that his past is a bit more checkered even than has been made public. He's not that bad on guitar and bass, either. It'd be interesting to hear what he could come up with with some honest songwriting. nod
