who's bigger, and more imoprtantly, who's is better (IYO)?

Bee Gees

Bee Gee's:
Better songs and more talented IMO.
Also bonus points for inspiring Michael Jackson.

However, I still think Abba wins it for me. Because, without Abba there would be no "A*Teens."

Maybe in a few years..3 teenage guys can form "The B*Teens" and do Bee Gees cover songs.

hmm to me it seems like they had two different kinds of music even though both were poppish...but i'd have to go with the BEE GEES...u can't beat that Saturday Night Fever soundtrack....

I'd have to go with Bee Gees... I'm probably more likely to listen to ABBA these days but the Bee Gees have better material.

I'm gonna go with the Bee Gees for the simple fact that the other night when I was turning the channel to get to the movie Coming To America, I came across this oldies music show and they were playing How Deep Is Your Love so I had to sit and watch the video and I missed the begining of one of my favorite movies. The same exact thing happened with ABBA's Dancing Queen, but whatever else I was trying to get to wasn't really that important, so it doesn't count. I dig ABBA though...

ABBA is still huge!!! You can still feel their influence!!!

I like ABBA better, but the Bee Gee's were the more important group.

Definitely Bee Gees are better. Abba is nice, but have no substance.

I have to go with ABBA on this one. Their important music spanned more albums and years than the Bee Gees which were only important the few years during the Saturday Night Fever and Grease years. Most of their hits are contained on that soundtrack. Also much of their music is sorta rooted in a particular sound, where as I feel ABBA sound was more rounded out.

Love both. Although ABBA were a well polished, well produced band, they couldn't fuck with the BeeGees as songwriters and producers.

No I am. Actually quite aware. Just never heard those songs nor know how well they did. I know they have been around...a lot longer than ABBA that's for sure...and they have quite an extensive catalog (WHich I think I have in MP3 form somewhere) I just don't think that many of their songs have "come around again" like ABBA's has...hence making some their lesser known tracks haven't made a comeback on recent radio.

They have made a bigger impact in a smaller time frame...and in a certian genre. WHere as ABBA has reached more generations..but had more a niche impact in almost the same genre.

ABBA hit it big in 1975 and their last album was 1982. I honestly stopped following them after Voulez-Vous.

I like ABBA a lot - I think they're amazing - but I just feel like he BeeGees spun a greater legacy ion pop music. IMHO
