Five Star, what if they were styled after prince? Five Star seemed to ape Michael (and Janet) Jackson through most of the 80's and early 90's. (Rock My World album cover anyone?) I wonder how succesful they would have been if they had adopted a Prince style instead of the Jacksons(as if the Jacksons shopped Chess King).
Don't get me wrong, I love the group and think they sing very well. I just question the styling as far as clothing, dancing etc... Since it seemed they were hanging on so tightly to Whatever Michael and Janet were doing the year before. If they had used Prince and his style as a Template maybe they could have had a larger success. They could have played off the good looks and sex appeal of the members. I think they may have come off as too "Family Wholesome" in the 80's and couldn't make the jump to adults in the 90's. (Other problems in the 90's would be a move to America, and a male sex scandal like George Michael) [ZUNECARD]MikeChristopher[/ZUNECARD]

Thanks for the reply David. I never heard of Dreamboy or Exotic Storm. I'll have to look them up.
Is it just me or does it seem that Mint Condition's first album seems kind of Prince influenced? [ZUNECARD]MikeChristopher[/ZUNECARD]
