Given that this video went through 3 major changes, I guess it's semi-safe to say that she had second thoughts (or the record label did). Which, itself, seems a bit unusual for Madonna. She could have easily went with the most graphic version and made $$$ off the sale of a video single once all the controversy hit and stations refused to play it... Madonna said in some interview that she pulled the video because of the consequences it would have in her kids life. She saw the effect such actions had on the Dixie chicks! Kids change people  | |

Madonna should have released this video isntead of that retarded "flag" version. What a cop-out. I don't buy that crap about being afraid of the effects a backlash might have had on her kids -she could've used it to teach them to stand up for what they believe in and not bow to peer pressure, and to voice their opinions when something is wrong. (because what is a backlash but an overgrown version of a schoolyard shunning?) Instead she's taught them that you should shut up and play nice and never ever raise your voice if you want the cool kids (mainstream audience, corporate endorsers, i.e. people who give you money) to like you.
