well, actually, if you listen to the strokes or just about any of the "new wave revival" bands that are hot these days, you hear a lot of lyrics like this.

and the bubblegum brigade isn't exactly summarizing proust in their lyrics either, in case you hadn't noticed.

i think tom put his comment in perspective quite well.
