The wiz

The movie/musical was not that good, but i enjoy the soundtrack.
Of course, there`s Ross singing "Home", M.J`s "You can`t win",
and the fun duet "Ease on down the road", but the best thing about this soundtrack is Lena Horne`s "Believe In Yourself"

You Can't Win is one of MJ's most soulful performances but I really like Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News especially while watching the movie and my favorite, Brand New Day.

lena horn tears it down..

its funny, i just watched this over the weekend...my three fav moments:

1) Brand New Day
2) Lena's Home
3) Ross' Be A Lion

Lion does not get enough credit for being a beautiful song and Diana tears it up. Vain in her neck and all.

I love Be A Lion. Especially since that's my zodiac sign. biggrin

But Stephanie Mills' version of Home is the one that brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

I really liked the more uptempo stuff...
1. Mean Ole Lion (I sing along with this one)
2. Ease On Down
3. You Can't Win
4. Slide Some Oil To Me
5. Don't Nobody Bring Me (No Bad News)
6. He's The Wizard
7. Gold/Green/Red

SO TRUE. Ross was at the top of her vocal prowess then; I have her concert in Las Vegas after she had done this movie---she was really singing FULL OUT then with the very veins you speak of popping out every which-a-way lol !

Yes, when she was on Access Hollywood or something. Can't remember what it was but it was supportive.
