Jackson 5

What are y'all favorite years of the Jackson 5.

The early years of bubblegum pop with songs like ABC, Lookin Through the Windows, Sugar Daddy and Maybe Tomorrow.

Or the later years with the funk-disco dance tunes like Get It Together, Forever Came Today, I Am Love and Dancing Machine.

Major fan of the J5. Literally have loved them all of my life. Have every single one of the J5's albums. I've ran threads on certain J5 albums/songs on here in the past. But to answer your question, from 69 -73 were my fave period of theirs. Their peak was 71. My all-time fave album from them is definately Maybe Tomorrow. But 71, everything the J5 touched turned to gold. Be it the Maybe Tomorrow album, or their Greatest Hits or Mike's first solo album "Got To Be There". When I was very little, my mom took me to see them at the Forum in 71.

I LOVE the Jackson 5, especially the early years.
I`m hooked on "Doctor my eyes", but my favorite is probably "The love you save" dancing jig

Lookin' Through the Windows is great, their last of the early bubblegum soul sound. Don't Let Your Baby Catch you from that LP is "out of sight"

I recommend the "Motown remixed" cd, which was released a while ago. There`s a very cool remix of "I want you back" on it. It starts with some awesome rhythm guitar, the Jamerson`s funky basslinie, and then a new drum loop underneath. It`s really good i think. Don`t miss it.

Honestly, I'm only still navigating their earlier albums... I've been feasting on merely the hits for years and years.

Nice pic of the group at their peak. Look at Jermaine and especially Tito. They look road weary for sure. Folks tend to forget how much the J5 toured. Bigtime major rock scale arena tours with sellout crowds. Not easy to maintain, day after day. They were still, with the exception of Jackie, just kids.

I love these dudes...I enjoy Jacksons music more but I think as a group J5 was better thanks to Jermaine. He really had a great voice and tight bass skills.

hmmm These are my tracks, great music, can't decide.

Let's just say Diana Ross Presents to Looking through The Windows

Big Boy* (Steeltown) (I’m not sure if Joe wrote that, but great tune)
I Want You Back
Can You Remember (Classy Tune)
Standing In The Shadows Of Love
Who's Lovin' You
Stand
The Love You Save
2-4-6-8
(Come Round Here) I'm The One You Need
La La (Means I Love You) (My Favorite Version)
Ready or Not (Here I Come) (Again, My Favorite Version)
Mama's Pearl (Prince should do a funked out cover of this)
Reach In (Great Track)
Darling Dear (Hey Cincee, is this the track that Kid Capri sampled for Biz Markie?)
Give Love on Christmas Day
Stand (Live)
Medley: Walk On / The Love You Save (Live) (Even on the Gary Live Album you can hear how great a live band they were)
Never Can Say Goodbye
It's Great to Be Here
Sugar Daddy
Lookin' Through the Windows
Don't Let Your Baby Catch You

Or the later years with the funk-disco dance tunes like Get It Together, Forever Came Today, I Am Love and Dancing Machine.

Skywriter to Moving Violation

Uppermost
I Can’t quit your love
Hum along and Dance
Dancing Machine
The Life Of The Party (The intro is fire, sound good next to Prince’s)
What You Don't Know (FIRE!!, this should be a staple in the Jacksons performance)
(You Were Made) Especially For My Love
Honey Love
All I Do Is Think Of You
Breezy
Time Explosion

Tito before show: Joseph, I don't want to do Rockin' Robin again.

Joseph: Boy, get ya ass on stage before I rock you.

I like the 'The Jacksons' stuff (76'-81') more. Due to Michael's grown up voice.

I love the classic J5 songs "I'll Be There," "Love You Save" and "ABC" as much as the next guy, however, I have to go with the latter on the question. The reason is because on tracks like "Get It Together" and "Dancing Machine" you can hear little spats of Michael's awesome adult voice starting to pop up, even just for a quick instant.

I know there are certain people who love Michael's child sounding voice more than his matured voice. And I think Michael (if you believe the movie Jacksons: An American Dream was scared that he couldn't be the boy who sang "Ben" anymore.) However, to me, Michael's magic came later as a solo artist. His adult voice is my favorite voice of all time. No questions asked in my book. So when given a chance to hear the start of that voice, in a song, it is amazing.
