I think both songs was released as US singles in 1970, and in the UK they were included on the "Surrender" album, which in Britain was re-named "I`m still waiting" when it came out in 1971, but in the US, "I`m still waiting" was included on the "Everything is everything" album. thanks for the info."I'm Still Waiting" is one of her finest singles.

I'll come back to this thread next week.
But you can bet your bottom dollar that 'Upside Down' will be in there. I'll also be including hidden gems such as 'Workin' Overtime' and 'Turn Me Over'.

For those who know 'Turn Me Over', isn't this the lamest, most cheeky as f... 'song' you've ever heard??
It's from the 'Silk Electric' album (not one of her best) and it's about 30 seconds long. It's the last song on what would have been Side A of the album. The first 27 seconds are Diana pressing the 'mist' button of her Yamaha keyboard, then - in a computerised voice - Diana saying "Turn me over". She even has the cheek to put her name as the composer in the credits. That album also has Diana going 'Rock' on 'Fool For Your Love' (I think). Wild, screaming guitars and Diana shouting down the mic. My friends were roaring with laughter when I played that one. [Edited 1/13/06 6:53am]

"Turn me over" is a weird little thing. "Silk electric" is a not a very good album, if it haven`t been for the hit single "Muscles" (which i don`t even like that much) it would have been a big mistake, although i can listen to "still in love" and "Anywhere you run to", and at times, "So close"

"Summertime" from the "Red hot rhythm & blues" album is one of my favorite songs by Ross in the 80s (not including her 1980 album)
I`ve bought all of her 80s albums, but after listening to them, i think it would have been more than enough to get the "Greatest hits: The RCA years" Chain Reaction Summertime Muscles It's Never Too Late Experience Love Or Loneliness Missing You Selfish One Tell Me Again Let's Go Up Mirror, Mirror In Your Arms (I Love) Being In Love With You Swept Away It's Hard For Me To Say Why Do Fools Fall In Love Cross My Heart Endless Love

Remember Me 5. Reach Out, I'll Be There 6. Surrender 7. I'm Still Waiting 8. DoobeDood'nDoobe, DoobeDood'nDoobe, DoobeDood'nDoo 9. Good Morning Heartache 10. Touch Me In The Morning 11. "My Old Piano" (the only Diana album I have is "Diana" and it's great..the deluxe edition is super kick ass) "Missing You" "The Boss" As for greatest hits albums, there is a really good import collection that covers nearly all her label changes and is very up to date. I think it's called "Love and Life" and is available as a single and double disc. I've had the double disc listed on my Amazon list for a while. I'll get it sooner or later. It's pricey new but you can probably get it for $20 used, which isn't bad when you figure a lot of domestic double disc hits sets cost that much (the "Gold" series, which is pretty economic in price considering how good the tracklistings can be, is that much or less).

If i had to choose between Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross, i would go with Aretha, no doubt. Of course, Diana Ross have had better luck with her material AT TIMES,
and her image is/was more commercial, but Aretha had soul I can listen to her singing "Angel" and get almost overwhelmed by the passion and feeling that she puts in her the song(s)
