Z Cult Fave/ Zeppelin-"Thank You" From their second album, this is definately one of my faves from Zeppelin. Man, the song is just beautiful. Great intro and outro added by John Paul's keys, very nice lyrics; "If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you. When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me." Reminds me heavily of the Hendrix's "If 6 Was 9", lyrics. This is why Zeppelin was so great; their versatilty. Such a soft and almost majestic ballad. Plant sings with a lot of feeling and sincerity on this one. Great song. Who else digs "Thank You"? SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Nice tune from a great record.
What Is and What Should Never Be still remains my favorite from that disc though. The ending (signaled by the gong) is just too killer. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

lol.."here I is". This is a great pick. Zep II is a great LP and "Thank You" is a great song. Jimmy Page knew how to lay his parts down (electric and acoustic) and this song is a great example. John Paul Jones' bass and organ/mellotron parts are excellent and Robert Plant sang this song with a lot of ease and power. Paul Stanley of KISS said that their hit ballad "Forever" was inspired by this song...When you say "rock n roll",this song definetly has a lot of "roll" in it..but it still "rocks" (lol). Great pick Brutha B!!

Love it of course.
Plant wrote it for his wife Maureen. (the lyrics to it I mean) Although I agree that the one part is eerily like "If 6 Was 9". [Edited 1/18/06 12:55pm] "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven
