Rush and Aimee Mann

Does anyone know how this collaboration came about? It seems kind of strange, mainly because I don't think of Rush as a band that collaborates with other pop musicians. I never heard the story of how "Time Stand Still" came about.

I don't know but that's about the only decent song on that album.
