Love for DIONNE FARRIS I found my copy of 'wild seed, wild flower' the other day and have been playing it 24/7 all weekend. does anyone remember her. i must say she should've blown up! she was lauryn hill five years before "mis-ed" was released. and dionne can sing circles around LH. don't get me wrong, i'm a fan of LH- but Dionne is/was IT!! if your minds not blown by this cd , something's wrong wit cha!! and don't forget her single 'Hopeless'.
P.S. her cover of "Blackbird' is the best version i've heard of that song. Prince #MUSICIANICONLEGEND

Ndeed!! That was a great album!! Van Hunt used to play rhythm guitar and keyboards in her band, (he also wrote "Hopeless" for her) and she contributed background vocals on his debut album (Randy "American Idol" Jackson produced a lot of Wild Seed, Wild Flower, and he is Van's manager). She still pops up doing performances here and there, but a promised follow-up album still hasn't materialized...she was supposed to be releasing one independently a few years back, but that never happened either...folks is still waitin, Dionne....

I read somewhere that she had a child, so motherhood likely (hopefully) became the priority there. What a great album, indeed.

Saw her when she first had a solo album. Loved her. Where is she now? Is she still performing?

Yeah this CD is great. Wish the industry and her label wasn't so fickle..She probably would have had some more stuff out.
