FOLEY fans the 12/31 Message " BIG TRUTH" Today FOLEY put up his message for everybody to read who wants to know what he believes BIG TRUTH is. I find it to be profound and articulate on the present day world in which we are throttled into.

... Have you got Hellborg's new album? Kali Son? Have you ventured into Hellborg library? His new album has a sitarist (Actually a 5 string sitar called a Zitar) who uses stomp boxes and plays it like a freakin electric guitar! It's the first effort without his musical collaborator Shawn Lane who passed away sometime ago. It sounds insane.. I am going to order it this month. It's also recorded in 3 different places simultaneously using modern technology. I thought you would be intrigued by this album http://www.bardorecords.com/Bf044.htm

Well, that's the thing, psykosoul. There isn't a big discography. Although the stuff with Miles Live in Motreaux shows from the box set helped a little bit. Many people have tried to get him in ventures whether it was being a bandmate (Ahem...Prince) or a record deal. But the thing that makes FOLEY so gangsta is he continues to decline and refuse to record for alot of places. He exists without any new music and people still call him for work.
How many people do you know who have played in Arrested Development/George Clinton and P-Funk Allstars/ AND Miles? I know 1.... But here's the thing kids should keep in mind. He never stopped recording. He walked away from his record deal. I don't think he liked the fact that he would owe people projects. Although that's just a theory. The covers of the Beatles and Staples singers. I got the Beatles cover on this sampler and I also got a Slamming cover of "Children of Production" and Jackson 5 "ABC". Alot of the stuff we do get is circulated by FOLEY. It's usually live reworks of 7 years ago material or renditions of past classic songs from Rock/Pop/R&B/Soul/Jazz . He has mailed out 2 volumes of this. The second sampler being a composite of the first one as well with unheard live material. He has circulated two distinct different demo tracks. "EZ Thangs" and "If it's Love" But there's so much we haven't heard and i guess this is because he has a epidemic with musicians biting his shit when he does reveal something. So the only thing I can say is for the most part you are good on the discography. When you download the sampler I think you will be caught up for the most part. Oh you gotta hear this alternate mix of R U Gonna b with Live horns and Foley vamping on elec. bass. It sounds completely different. I also got from the Smart Alec Labz a slamming fuzzed wah wah guitar studio rendition of Wonder's "Luv Having you around" which is just in a word "ill" Yo whoever has EZ thangs upload that to me. Im having trouble finding the first cdr in my collection. It's somewhere. I will dig it up if someone doesnt have it. The thing that's cool is you never know what FOLEY will cover. Could be Led Zeppelin could be Miles..... Serious ear and serious talent...

Recently acquired the section of those Montreux performances that Foley was a part of from a collector. Great set. The Chaka Khan appearance was a bit disappointing but other than that, it kills. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Yeah, man I saw that vid.. she was a mess & looked cracked-out or something? Miles definitely went easy on her. And then you listen to another version and he isnt even playing lead on it. IT was like a one time event. I think he shocked the hell out of guitar cats when he was killin em on 4 strings and NO ONE could read a detailed bio on his background and it killed them that he was the only one who didn't have any jazz training and here he was right next to Miles decked out in whatever clothes he felt like. I think it shocked cats when he did shit like "All Blues" And "Heavy Metal intro" His rhythm shit on Human Nature/Carnival Time/Time after Time/Prince's Movie Star That dude had to follow Mclaughlin/Cosey/Scofield/Robben Ford He has such a unreal ear. I knew on the studio version of "The Senate" on 7 years ago but what sets him apart from alot fusion cats is his feel/rhythm ability and his emotional response to music. Wait til you hear this version of Wonder's Luv Having You around the shit is RAW... Have you tried out Pandora? That's my favorite new music selection device as of recent? Really impressive site http://www.pandora.com P.S. I wonder who always lurks on these types of threads.

On CBS 60 minutes, a guy sold a pile of candy in the corner for thousands of dollars. And all it was was a pile of candy dumped in a corner. I think Music is going to move to that realm of absurd pricing as well. Especially the esoteric/eccentric ones like Prince and Bjork. The Norman Rockwell's are going to get priced with a wholesale price. It's all in the packaging. I wonder what the new frame will be made of.

They did a feature a year or so ago on this guy that was the best selling artist in America. Can't remember his name. All he did was really pedestrian work. The kind of stuff you could do if you had a paint by numbers kit. See any musical parallels? tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Hold on. I think you just came with a great post/thread title by accident. "The great musical pedestrians" I think Phil Collins would be one even though he says he isn't a musician. Even though he's a great drummer as evident with Genesis and Brand X even. Get to work on the post ::Does Sussudio dance::
