How on Earth Was This Popular Back in the Day? A #3 Hot 100 hit back in 1979. Who here owns this? And what are some other candidates for inexplicable popularity? *Note: nothing from today's charts is eligible, because it's just too easy.

I was born in 1980 and I kinda remember this as being one of the earliest "hit Canadian songs" that I ever learned was popular with folks.

What about Popcorn? Though I have to admit, I still like that song.

Popcorn is great and in a different league entirely. CinisterCee said: I was born in 1980 and I kinda remember this as being one of the earliest "hit Canadian songs" that I ever learned was popular with folks.

Uh, who must be? I'm certainly not! sorry, that wasn't a diss. but, EWF hasn't been really "relevent" in 25yrs. "Faces" was their last decent release IMO. there were a few gems on there. I think someone would have to be at least 40 to really remember them, without becoming a music historian. ya know, digging in the crates ? that's all. It's an instrumental.... total anomaly as far as I can tell hit-wise.

I didn't know it was from 1979! It was still on the radio and used in television for the first few years of my childhood.

I feel a Frank Mills, Music Box Dancer and Snow, Informer mashup in your future. Can we throw in some early, crappy "Rush" stuff for good measure? "She made me glad to be a man"
