same concept and marketing that Tone Loc, MC Hammer, and Sir Mix A Lot went through except 50 has major people behind him (Dre, Eminem, etc.) and they know how to win the game....of course the game is different now but his skills aren't much better than the former rappers

He is by FAR the least talented....(singer/rapper/musician/per4mer?) EVER!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the guy is all hype and MTV push on. I just don't like his voice, I mean at least someone like Nate Dogg has a nice sounding and unique voice. 50's voice just doesn't do it for me and I don't get why other people dig it either. Oh well.

In short, I pretty much agree with you nod

Why was Iggy Pop famous? Or the Sex Pistols? Not that I'm stickin up for Curtis, I'm just sayin, their lacking acuity at their given professions is also evident. It's hype. It's buzz. It's a story to tell. Fuck music. People buy scandal.

At least Iggy made some great music to go along with the glass and peanut butter and drugs. hmph!

Ya got that right. But, most people like 50 don't care. All they want is the fame and money. They don't care if they look like a thugged out, uneducated fool doing it.

10 reasons why he is famous

1. He is a sensationalist extraordinaire. The way he provokes is in a sense art.
An expression of sabotaging someones comfort zone. He is a master of that. Have you ever heard JadaKiss crying on the radio about 50? That's classic
And only 50 could invoke such rage and

2. He did something cats weren't even aware of. Which is he could flood the streets with his name/his street cred by staying on the grind with new material of mixtapes. All that mattered was that he stayed to this sound where he was mentored by Jam Master Jay. His lyrics he has funny lines that alot of people wouldn't dare say or it's part of the "That's all I had to do was say that? factor. 50 beat it to him. He was like the Randy Machoman of Hip Hop.
He knew what the streets wanted.

3. 50 Cent's ability to reach the masses. Surpasses most pop stars and musicians. Why in hip hop? Because he has the charm factor and 2pac/Biggie is no longer around. So there is a spot for the new charismatic intelligent maestro of gangsta rap

4. Getting Shot 9 times is probably God's reward for giving 50 Karma in return for his Hellish journey in life. Why did 50 get it and not others? He believed more and he was just better at strategy and had a intuitive sense to think 8 steps ahead of his competitors.

5. Girls like a tough bad boy. 50 speaks to female teenagers in a way that most guy artists can't. He doesn't have to wear makeup or costumes. He just smiles and says a verse and ladies scream for 50 cent. He puts himself out there for the ladies and knows how to speak to them by saying whats really on his mind no matter how crass it is. BUT here's the difference -50 is extremely dangerous and menacing but with that smile? It's over.... Magazines love him, award shows love him

6. Jimmy Iovine catapulted 50 cent in a way that's never been seen. Lets put it in perspective. In 2 years 50 cent made over 40 million. You think that makes alot artists mad? Right...How did he do it? The guy is a genius promoter and street hustler. He knows his royalties. He owns more real estate and business ventures than you could possibly imagine. In a way he is sort of like the Gangsta Rap's James Brown business wise.

7. 50 cent's no drug policy has served him well. He is able to stay focused and and disciplined in a way most emcees cannot even scratch the surface.

8. 50 cent's one of his best qualities is finding the right alliance.
Eminem,Dr Dre,G Unit. These particular three have served 50 cent as an amazing buffer zone.

9. He is aware he has a small time window

10. He is the hook maestro. Let's explain it this way. Most entertainers come up with generic song hooks. 50 cent has generic song hooks with charisma.
He sells it in a way that he could probably steal the stage from one of the best damn musical talents of the day. Why? His attitude and swagger 50 has all the right ingredients. But again.... Here's how to know why 50 is famous

Get 10 random girls and guys from the street and ask them why they like 50 and they will probably tell you he is cool.

Im not a 50 cent fan. I dont have any of his mixtapes or his albums. But I can tell you the guy is automaton. He learns quick and if you think about it how many people can circumvent their ways through the waters that 50 swam in?

Take those 10 points I just listed and you will see why 50 cent is famous. And anyone who doesn't think he is talented. Then I tell you what write a 50 song with a hook that gets stuck in someones head and then perform it in front of a large crowd?

50 is alot smarter than cats realize and believe me alot people I know in Hip Hop have told me this. He has a intelligence you can't just learn it comes from experiencing what he has been through. I can see why alot people are mad. But 50 proved how to stay on people's minds. Look how he set up Ja Rule.
Look how the Game even did a mixtape dissing 50 and his crew.

The cardinal rule of 50's game is just as long as you are on someones mind you win. Think about it and realize.....50 was in the nexus of the universe for Hip Hop culture. He got a education you can't possibly pay for.

Three words: JAM MASTER JAY

'

Did your brain explode after you typed all of this eek

50 is a destructive force adding NOTHING. His career isn't about adding anything to music history but to promote materialism and violence as something desirable.

50 cent needs to disappear.

thats why we call them "sell-outs"....sad thing is, there are more of these type on BET, and on the charts, than the real talent....
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
