Madonna 'Sorry"/COAD update thread

Sorry if I'm late with this but I haven't read much about "Sorry" and it's recent release. What's going on with it?

What are the reactions to the video? I'm not loving it. I saw it for the first time early in the morning on VH1 right after Prince's "Black Sweat" (which I like a lot better). It didn't even have titles before or after. The reason I don't like it is because unlike "Hung Up", it doesn't have a lot of excitement to it...It's very controlled and akward....(spoilers, I guess) Madonna leaves her boy dancers in order to tramp around in a van and pick up guys to taunt them. It's moments of humour where good but lap dancing the guys...I don't think they were into it! After that, with the battle and all, it's not bad but the roller disco scene is probably the highlight although it's once again werid that her dancers come back and beat up the boys she just picked up? Whaa....

I honestly thought a song like this would have some kind of intense music video behind it, not just another excuse for a party. I hope she releases a video with PSB for the remix, but I know she won't.

How is "Sorry" doing on the charts (Itunes, etc.)? I just noticed that "Hung Up" went back into the top 50 on Billboard (from sales, I'm sure) but I doubt anyone is playing "Sorry" (at least yet). She's not really going to do any press or performances, is she? I think the album is already kind of over if people can't get interested in "Sorry". Clear Channel strikes again!

FM radio or Sirius/XM? Sirius played the hell out of "Sorry" (and I think "Hung Up" before that, which played on several stations) and have moved on to the PSB remix (I think they're really starting to listen to fans).

FM radio in San Francisco, a station that plays all dance tracks. Now that you mention it, Hung Up was a mix, not the album version.

A "Hung Up" remix? Yeah, those sometimes got played on one of the other stations that tends to play remixes and in some mix shows, but they really went all out with the radio edit of "Hung Up".

I'm not sure, but it wasn't the album version. It was included in a show called "The Morning Mix".

Really? I really don't listen to that much of the hit radio...It's all the same shit and they stopped being Madonna friendly when "American Life" came out (they played "Hung Up" a few times but I heard it more often on the rock/pop station).

The video for "Sorry" is already # 1 on MTV. It's picking up kind've slow on radio though. I don't think it'll peak as high as "Hung Up". I say it'll peak at # 18 which isn't that bad. Gwen's first couple of singers didn't peak that high until "Hollaback Girl". I think "Jump" is gonna be the big hit from this album.

He lives in Canada though and Canada always supports Madonna to the ends of the earth. Sorry is at #12 on the Canadian airplay charts.

I saw the video at a dance club in Hollywood the other night. It's great. It's diva. It's glamourous. It's disco. I LOVE IT. Love the roller rink theme. Love all the black dancers she has in her vids lately. I LOVE that Boombox.

I'm enjoying this era while it lasts because Madonna is actually making excellent dance music now and it's all produced by my man Stuart Price. Thumbs up!

I wish I were in New York so I could dance to these tracks on a huge dancefloor*! pout

I hope Sorry does well. So far, MTV is being very kind to Madonna. Dont know how radio is being with the song though. My guess is that it'll slowly pick up pace. The pop station we had played the shit out of Hung Up, but for some God forsaken reason, they switched to a country station, and the only other mainstream music station plays mainly hiphop and reggaton. So yea, I havent heard it on radio.

I think what could make the single are MTV and single sales, with hopefully some decent airplay

Either way, COADF has done decently. I hope it goes further, but it already (for the most part) patched up the damage done by American Life

The video is just okay, imo.I like it,but it doesn't thrill me the way other Madonna videos do.It's too simplistic and it doesn't have much of a plot.Basically,it's just Madonna and her clubgoer pals driving around in a van, picking up strangers and then going to a roller-skating disco. Not very exciting. The best thing about it is...Madonna looks HOT! razz

The video is supposed to be a sequel to "Hung Up",btw.
