Good News For Belle & Sebastian Fans in the U.S and Canada 
I heard this discussed on a MPLS radio station over an hour ago. I haven't been able to fall asleep since. from: http://www.belleandsebastian.com It is with great joy and excitement that we bring you news of Belle & Sebastian's biggest ever US and Canada tour. 22 shows in 18 cities. We are going to be joined on amost all these dates by very special guests The New Pornographers. One exception is Vancouver. I can't remember why. The other exception is Austin, where we will be joined by Mogwai, Cat Power and Pretty Girls Make Graves. In fact, it's not really our show as such, it's a Matador SXSW show, and unfortunately that means very few of you are going to get in, as the vast majority of places are taken by SXSW pass holders. Sorry about that. You'll notice that not all the ticket information there is quite complete. Keep checking back and it'll appear soon enough. Also, if I may save you the time and bother it'll take to write in and complain about booking fees. We know! But we can't do anything about it! Almost all the venues have deals with the big ticket agencies, so either we just swallow it or we play places so small that a) we don't fit and b) only 150 people get in. At least this way you get the choice of whether to buy a ticket or not. Clearly it's not the cheapest ticket on the market either, but it costs what it costs and I think the addition of The New Pornographers makes it pretty decent value for money. Rest assured that nobody is laughing all the way to the bank. Except the ticket agencies... Anyway, the dates in full are below. I was lucky enough to catch them 2 years ago on Haloween in MPLS. It remains one of the 10 best shows I've seen. Who knows if they will do this big of a tour over here again. So, if you have any interest in this band, pick the city closest to you and catch this tour!! Plus, The New Pornographers are opening for most of the shows. What more could you ask for? 
okay...now that I've said all that, ARE there any B&S fans round this place? | |

I love their name and the few things I've heard. Maybe this is the time to start collecting n listening! Music is the language of the spirit. They are well worth the time. ps, if you do decide to check them out, I recommend picking up Push Barman To Open Old Wounds as a starting point. It's a 2 disc comp that came out last year, a collection of many years of EPs. It's fantastic and gives a good glimpse of the band through the years. | |

I love them & their brand of indie-pop particularly their first two albums Tigermilk & If You're Feeling Sinister.Saw them at The Wiltern awhile back here in L.A. Haven't listened to their music lately, but Ive read a new album will be released in February. | |

I LOVE THOSE ALBUMS! Their last propper new album (Dear Catastrophe Waitress) was VERY good as well, on par with the first albums. Which was good as I found the album before (Hold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant) to be quite a bore. Regardless, they put on a great show. I'm VERY excited. | |
