A-ha turn up the ANALOGUE promotion in the UK, USA to follow

To further their commitment to A-ha, Universal has launched a 2 month Promo tour of the UK for aha. The CD "Analogue" so far has only been released in Germany and Norway. It will be issued in the UK in Late January, despite Aha already playing dates in the UK last month, finishing at Wembley. The Album has received Rave reviews from all the major UK press, and so far it is leading them back to airplay in the UK where there hasnt been any since 2000's SUMMER MOVED ON. A-ha's first single was CELICE and issued only in the German Market, now the Promotion is turned up as they Release the Next single ANALOGUE(all i want), this song already is gathering alot of airplay in the UK as AHA are set to make the TV rounds performing and interviewing there. AHA also have completed a video for ANALOGUE which is airing in the UK and is being shipped to the USA for VH1 in February. Aha will make its USA return in the Spring to the USA market, no release date is set yet or tour dates but all things are looking like a March-April release and a April-May tour playing mainly smaller theater 2000+ seaters.

I'm not sure Analogue is the right single for the UK market. Celice or Holy Ground would be better. That said, Analogue has made it onto Radio 2 A list.

Its good to see them back. I'm going to see them perform at Oxford St HMV at the end of the month.

I feel like I've been hearing for years that they are finall gonna get a US release. I hope it happens. I haven't heard anything by Aha since the first 2 albums in the 80s. But, I've heard so many good things by folks on this board that I'm very intrigued. Too bad I'm too cheap to just check them out by buying an import or 2 smile

Well this time it will happen due to recent bands like Coldplay and Keane all giving props to Aha. So thats why UNIVERSAL went out and signed AHA to a worldwide record deal for 3 more albums. All i can say is Aha of the 80's is like a totally different group, Aha of today is much more about the song, gone are the keyboards and synths. Not saying that there 80's stuff wasnt good, it was a stepping stone to the last 15 years of work that they have done that mainly the USA has missed out on.

Well, I do hope this really happens. All I've heard both from the press and folks whose judgement I trust makes me think I will really enjoy the new material. And, if the have some success in the U.S. my bet is that some of their past efforts would finally see the light over here.

I took 3 people with me to the London gig last month. 4th row, I threw aha in their face! Two of them were "take on me" fans, the other had a couple of albums.

All of them though the show was fantastic.

The highlights were Celice, The Weight Of The Wind, Living a boys adventure tale and cosy prison.

Yeah I did the same thing when they Played here in NYC on September 12th, i brought a few friends that I had gotten into Aha the last few years with their latest work. This also was the first time I was hearing some of the ANALOGUE material, as soon as i heard Cozy Prisons, they all said to me, this band is 'Fucking Amazing". (sorry for the language)

i'm hoping this album does well in the US and the UK. If so, maybe they will get their past CDs reissued and remastered.
