Alicia Keys won best new artist on the BET awards show tonight im L.A. She had on a really nice sequinced Prince shirt when she went to accept her award.It was an image of prince circa 1984.

The shirt was lovely! Whee on earth can I get on!!! I was soo excited when I noticed it. I screamed at the top of my lungs.

Yeah. THE SHIRT was cool ... but, the whole time I was thinkin' "Prince should really be on this show 2 show 'em how a REALmusicbyREALmusicians-performance is done."
Usher did his thing ... can't lie. And, of course, EW&F (instruMENTAL) reminded us what REAL music by REAL musicians WAS and (reminiscently) WILL ALWAYS BE about. Sad thing? ... they're a fading breed of "originators" establishing THE BEST OF in MUSIC. But, I digress ... good nite, all.

Eye just luved the shirt, wish eye could find 1 just like it, but eye doubt it, it does look specially made. Wonder what Mani thought about that? seeing another woman sporting his picture!

That shirt Kicked my butt. I loved the white pearls, hanging diamonds, and feathers hanging from the sleeve. It was straight up out of the 80's and I LOVED it.

Reminds me of when Bjork wore a sequin skirt that had the face of Michael Jackson on it...but, she did it more as a gag...

I liked the shirt..when I read the post before the show I thought it was just going to be an edawardian lace frill white shirt.Thank god it wasnt just a PR poster shirt though. Her speech about stoppin the black on black crime I think was due to Suge and Snoop havin a semi beef in the audience Ive been reading. She looked a little scared.

True, but in Bjorks case...she was attending the Golden Globe Awards (as a nominee for actress and song for DITD)..Because it was her first time doing something *hollywood* she wanted to us something that symobolized the scarriest aspect of Hollywood gone amuck...She had one made for Maddy and Michael and decided to go with MJ cause he best represented the point she wanted to make..

She did point out how much she appreciated their work...

since i am allergic 2 BET lol, my sister called and told me 2 turn it on...as a designer, it was a breath of fresh air 2 c what she wore because i customize old t shirts and have done a few prince t's...props 2 her stylist on that one!!
