VH1 Soul!

So last night I was just about to hit the sack when I happened to notice that the VH1 Soul Classics were about to come on and they showed some great videos. They showed Oh Sheila by Ready for the world, dancing in the sheets by Shalamar and my Prerogative by B. Brown. I must say I was pretty impressed because they show some obscure stuff that I haven't seen in almost 20 years. Anyone else like the show?? What cool videos have you seen?

From what it sounds like, I think you WERE watching VH1 Classic because those were all videos shown last night during their "Classic Soul" hour. VH1 Classic also has shows like "Rock Fest," "Super Seventies," "We Are the Eighties" and "The Alternative."

Madame x were the bomb! I really wish they would have made more music. That album is very Vanity 6-ish and hot as hell! Cherries in the snow is the bomb as well as I'm weak. Bernadette Copper did a great job producing them. One of the singer Alisa Randolph did a solo album that Bernadette Cooper produced as well and their are some good tracks on that as well but maybe had a slightly more 90's feel to it.

"Boogie Nights" is a very basic video...just the guys lip-synching the song in a studio."Forget Me Nots" is a great video.Patrice is singing the song to her ex-boyfriend.He's with another girl, but by the end of the video,he goes back to Patrice as she confesses "baby, baby I still care".The last scene is funny. He picks her up in his arms and carries her away, while the other girl looks at them, mad as hell.Patrice waves at her lol

There were tentaive plans for a second Madame X album in 1988.Teena Marie was gonna write and produce a few tracks (she was a good friend of producer Bernadette Cooper).I don't why this project never materialized, but I certainly would have bought it.
