I never thought I'd say this, but I think I genuinely like Chaos And Creation In The Backyard more than any of his other albums. McCartney, Ram and Band On The Run are all classics too, but I find myself listening to C&C way more (at least at the moment).

Band on the Run is the obvious choice, but I probably like:

McCartney
Red Rose Speedway, or
Ram

the best. I haven't heard the new one yet.

Flowers In The Dirt
Wingspan (2cd)

those are essential... chaos is already one of his best.. feels like its gonna age very nicely..

I thought I'd like this, I always wanted Paul to rock more. The first two songs are cool, but I couldn't get into it.

I'd go for more recent albums like Flaming pie and Chaos and creation the backyard!

Ofcourse an album like Band on the run is out of the question!

I got my boyfriend a copy of Chaos and Creation for Christmas. I'd listened to it online before then, but since I got him the album I've been listening to it a lot more. It's one of his best. Band on the Run is easily his best non-Beatles work. I really liked Flowers in the Dirt when it first came out, but it's been a few years since I've given it a proper listen.

Several of his albums are really good:

Ram
Wings- Band on the Run
Wings- At the Speed of Sound
Wings- Back to the Egg
Pipes of Peace
Flowers in the Dirt
Flaming Pie
Chaos and Creation in the Backyard

....my ultimate favorite of these would probably be a tie between Chaos and Flowers in the Dirt.

Nobody ever mentions Red Rose Speedway. I think it's as good as Ram.

I was really really really into Paul in the 70's but my interest waned in the 80's & 90's. Recently I bought a whole bunch of his remasterd cds & oddly enough the one I keep listening to is Wildlife which isn't considered a great album. That & Ram I keep playing over & over. Not so much Band on the Run which I did love when it first was released.
