Your favorite artist's biggest flaw

...i'll go first.

Erykah Badu...some of her songs are just too dang long. and she re-uses shit too often.

another.

Madonna...tries too hard to be 25 again with her lyrics, fashion, videos, etc. girl, be a classy middle aged lady and play up the 'mature' sexuality thing a little more. but don't change the hung up video...the pink leotard was hot.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

MJ - lip syncing for the last 15 years. Crap hair!

TTD/Sananda - Pretentious

Stevie Wonder - over-sings

A lot of times, an artist's biggest flaw is also their biggest strongsuit. Take Prince for example and his issues with control.

Aaliyah: Her voice was hollow and soulless a lot of the time, and while some of her music is absolutely bangin', some of it is also either dull or overproduced.

Diana Ross: Not ALL of her stuff is great and she's obviously quite the self-absorbed bitch.

The Jacksons: I love them, but they're overhyped in the MJ fan community, and I prefer the Jackson 5.

James Brown: Drug and women abuser.

Janet Jackson: Her last two efforts blew (IMO) and I'll never understand why she still continues to be called the 'normal' Jackson.

Madonna: Has been on an electronica kick for the past eight years and it needs to stop already.

MJ: His child solo material, as well as "Off The Wall" and "Thriller", are still some of my favorite music of all time, but it's been downhill since. Most of his die-hard fans are annoying and deluded as all hell, too.

Missy Elliott: She doesn't sing enough. As much as I LOVE the personality and humor in her rapping (which is admittedly terrible from a technical standpoint), singing is her true talent and she needs to utilize it more often. Can the Lil' Jon-esque ad-libs as of late, too! mad

Prince: Despite some quality material, he hasn't released a truly great album, IMO, since either "SOTT" or "Lovesexy".

Rick James: Fell off after hitting his peak with "Street Songs" and as far as his personal life goes.. well, we all know.

The Supremes: Like the '60s incarnation better. shrug

TLC: Apart from the fact that arguably the creative force and true talent behind the group is dead, their last album wasn't so great, and "R U The Girl?" was incredibly pointless.

Any artist/group that I listed in the "Apart from Prince, who do people like?" thread but is nowhere to be found here I don't have any true problem with... yet.

Bowie - Errs on the side of overproduction...usually to positive results, but...

MJ

Lip Synching

Takes too long between albums

Being Michael Jackson and having fans become depressed because losers with nothing better to do feel the need to talk shit about him ALL the time and they have to loose themselves in his music and try to ignore all the crap thrown their way. I guess that's not really his flaw but a simple fuck off to his haters would certainly make me a "die hard fan" happy biggrin

Oh and not through a song, just a simple "fuck off" at any major event...

Prince: hypocritical, possibly insane.
Stones: Keef's getting spookier every year
Bowie: when he speaks forgets that not everyone's gonna be able to keep up with the words coming out of his mouth. it's annoying.
BSB: (you laugh, you die) doesn't look like they'll ever be able to break out of the boyband mold. Claimed they were working on it, but the latest album actually pegged them back at square one instead of moving forward in regards to songwriting, instruments, production, etc. actually done by the Boys. Bummer. sad

Prince--needs to go back to being daring with his music. Elevator music these days. F**k the big labels go back to being an indie.

George Clinton--desparately needs to take care of the business side.

D'Angelo---the music needs to become a priority over getting high.

Bootsy--tour please!
