"Never Can Say Goodbye" Never Can Say Goodbye is a soul classic. It was originally written by Clifton Davis, star of TV That's My Mamma and Amen for The Supremes.
Which is your favorite version. Jackaon 5 - 1971 (2 Pop/ 1 Black) Junior Walker & the All-Stars - 1971 Johnny Mathis - 1971 Isaac Hayes - (22 Pop/ 5 Black) James Brown - 1972 Gloria Gaynor - 1975 (9 Pop/ Black 32/ Disco 1) Sheena Easton - 2001 PRINCE: Always and Forever

I`ve only heard the one by Jackson 5, and Vanessa Williams, on the "Everlasting" album.

There is only one answer:
Isaac Hayes is nearly untouchable in my book, and his version is great. Very touching in a very different way from J5's. But Michael's is still the definitive version of this song. The Normal Whores Club

I'm not a fan of hers, but I saw Alicia Keys do a great cover of it J5 style on Tv. She's really talented.

I haven't heard all those versions but I grew up on J5 so they'll always have the top spot even if theirs isn't really the best Pretty damn sweet though

Issac Hayes' version on the Live at the Sahara Tahoe album. He also kills Carol King's It's Too Late on that LP.

I can just picture him doing "It's Too Late." I need to go get that album ASAP. Thanks for the heads-up, DPWC. I love this place. The Normal Whores Club

I love Sheena Easton's version from her 2001 CD - FABULOUS. It took the best elements of the 70's and gave it a 21st century update. Very cool. Stacey
