The Glitter Project '06 - they really are fucking nuts This shit is UNREAL The Glitter Project 2006 Fans from the Mariah Network Forum, and the Mariah Lyrics Network have banded together to create an exciting and unforgettable gift for Mariah's birthday this year! Why?: It's been almost 5 years since the Glitter album came out, and with the suprise "comeback" of Mariah in 2005 and everyone loving her again, we "THE TRUE FANS" who have stuck with her through thich and thin, are uniting to achieve one goal... TO MAKE GLITTER #1 in 2006, like it SO deserved way back in 2001! How?: All you have to do to be a part of this historic project, is to mark March.27.2006 in your calander, and on that day, go to ANY retail outlet and purchase a copy of Glitter. OR you can buy 2, or 3 or more copies, and give them out to a friend or family member (thus spreading the Glitter around, AND helping Mariah). What can I do right now?: For time being, from January to March.27.2006, you can send a link to this page to EVERY Mariah fan you know, post the link on forums, add links to your websites, add a link to your email signatures, or FORWARD an email to Mariah fans around the world. That's the HARD work - the easy part is on March.27.2006, when all our hard work will pay off, as we watch the Glitter album reach #1 in 2006! We MUST get this information to EVERY Mariah fan, so that they can participate! It's going to take a LOT of work Lambies! Imagine what a gift this will be for Mariah, on her birthday, to see one of the most under-appreciated album of her career SOAR to #1, making 2005/2006 the YEAR OF MIMI!!!! What do I get?: If you choose to participate in this increadible project... #1 - You will be personally affecting Mariah's impact on the world this year. #2 - We are trying to create a BUZZ out of nowhere.. imagine the critic's faces when they see the album they bashed and wrote off as crap have a "comeback" of its very own! You get the satisfaction of seeing Mariah stay on the TOP where she belongs, and the satisfaction of seeing all the critics eating their own words. #3 - You can place a comment into the "Glitter Project"'s memory book, which will either be an online book, or a real scrap book, that we will TRY to get to Mariah for her Birthday. (NO GUARANTEES, but we're gonna try!) This will all be decided closer to the March.27.2006 countdown. For any questions or ideas please email me - Mandy M "The Glitter Project" is © of The Mariah Lyrics Network 2005 [Edited 1/5/06 10:20am]

Also the idiots, for all their chart knowledge, know nothing about chart policy. A 5-year-old album cannot top the Billboard 200.

"What can I do right now?:" as though this were an attempt to relieve tsunami or hurricane victims.
I did, however, truly enjoy Mandy M’s interesting spelling variations on “incredible” (“increadible”), “calendar” (“calender”), and “surprise” (“suprise”). And then there was this gem: “Imagine what a gift this will be for Mariah, on her birthday, to see one of the most under-appreciated album of her career SOAR to #1, making 2005/2006 the YEAR OF MIMI!!!!” ?? Mandy, I’m sorry, but 2005/2006 is two years, not “the YEAR”. Hey orgers, let's go out and each purchase a copy or twelve of NPS on June 7th. Whaddya say?! Like Mariah would even KNOW if she got to number one or not. Im not hating on her, i have some of her records, but hell, whats the point?! I have no money, i certainly wouldnt use it to give to Mariah. She doesnt need it and I just think shes too far gone to realise whether shes number one or not. Shes probably got Yes Men all around her telling her shes number one every day!
Shit that was really mean of me. I actually quite like her! I dont think shes very in tune with reality though....

Sounds like Mariah fans have a lot in common with MJ fans (instert joke here). Seriously, MJ fans came up with the same idea of buying another copy of one of his albums to make it go up on the charts but the idea was so that he would tour again. It's "Glitter" not very well stocked...where you gonna find it other than online? I have to read on...
(thus spreading the Glitter around, AND helping Mariah). Helping Mariah? Holy delusions of grandeur! Helping a millionaire? You know I have multiple copies of some albums and it wasn't to help the artist....it was because I wanted them. Do you really need/want another copy of "Glitter" in this day and age? I have three copies of Madonna's COADF but all of them are different (the regular CD. the non-stop mix download, and the limited edtion). I don't think I ever thought "Madonna is really going to like me for this". Not seriously, anway. And how many hardcore Mariah fans do they really think are out there that it will make the album number one. Considering it's March and it might be a slow week, they would still need like 150K and if they are any big releases out, probably much more than that. [Edited 1/5/06 16:33pm]

Glitter is a really good album that was overlooked due to the horrible film

When I first saw this headline, I thought this had to do with Gary Glitter, which really freaked me out for a moment. However, once I saw that it was about Mariah, I calmed down a little bit, only to read further and realize what a sad joke this is. BTW, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, and Paula Abdul all have stars on the Walk of Fame. Heck, even Ryan Seacrest and Terry Bradshaw have stars on the Walk of Fame, yet Mariah doesn't have a star.

I don't really enjoy all the rappers on it though. ie. Busta Rhymes calling her "Wilma" every 2 bars. Ja Rule grunting through another song sure ages that one song.
