how do you know that they dont have a record deal

Well they finished with Warner Brothers a couple of years back. Even they were fed up with Van Halen and i doub't anyone else has signed them. They don't even have a lead singer. Their website is a joke. I'd love to hear another VH album but i think they're history now. I'd love to be proved wrong though.

Man, I was gonna say Freddie....A damn shame cuz he was the king. I love miles, but as a raw trumpet player, Freddie was the man. Listen to "Red Clay" and the stuff he did with Herbie Hancock in the 60's!

It's more of a shame than you know.

He was referred to my best friend (who has a history of helping trumpet players get their chops back) by none other than Donald Byrd and Nat Adderley.

Freddie never followed up. disbelief

Eddie Van Halen is still a good guitarist but not great like he used to be.

Jimmy Page has always been sporadic and uneven but he used to do really good cuts in the past every once in a while. He hasn't played like he used too in any of his performance from Live Aid 85 and after though IMO.

Yngwie Malmsteen can still shred like a mad dog but he has lost his feeling somewhere along the line. When he did his first albums as a solo artist it was the most innovative guitar playing in the rock field since Van Halen.

As for Eddie Van Halen, well since Hagar joined in 1985 he's not really showed what he's capable of simply because the material under Hagar was less experimental and more traditional. When Roth was in the band he really let fly. Id love to hear another VH album though i doubt it will ever happen, they dont even have a record deal.

Eddie claimed he wrote everything (that's why he never did a solo album, because they all were) so I don't know why everything sucked under Sammy. Sammy has the vocal chops, maybe he came up with the lyrics. Maybe it's just age. VH was great as a fun juvenile band.

There'll definitely be other VH albums--Dave says he's goin to rejoin the band still. Eddie's such a legend that even if they don't have a deal, how hard will it be to get one? Eddie needs to pull it together, though, if only for himself.
