Missy Elliott, "This Is Not A Test!" 
Y'know, at first listen, I was as disappointed with this album as many others were, but upon second and more attentive listen, I can't help but find it to be one hell of a club banger and more.  True-- Timbaland's dropped more innovative and engaging beats and Missy's reeled in stronger guest artists, but her personality and sense of humor are winning (as always) and the production is solid regardless.

I love this album...it IS a mess, a schizophrenic collection of funk and neptunes-style production with a little jamaican flava on "dont be cruel."
but it's some of her most hypnotic material. "Let me Fix my weave" is a classic. so is "let it bump" and i actually like "pump it up" with nelly. the R. kelly joint aint bad either. and of course 'pass the dutch' is on fire. i really dont understand the hatred. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me | |
