Tom Cruise has been doing some really interesting movies lately.. honestly, eye'll have 2 say eye was very impressed with Vanilla Sky,.. both hold its own very nicely..

This is another movie loosely based on an idea from the great science-fiction writer Philip K. Dick. Others include MATRIX, BLADERUNNER, TOTAL RECALL, IMPOSTER and even those cinematic disasters EYES WIDE SHUT and VANILLA SKY. Perhaps Cruise thinks he has has an affinity for Dick's work? After seeing previews, I am more encouraged to see this despite Steven Speilberg being the director. I dread his super-light suburan take on the paranormal test

I didn't even hear about this movie.

It was very well done - showed Spielberg can make entertaining adult-oriented sci-fi. People are actually shown getting it on.
John Williams did the score.

Is it a chick flick? Nope. So, you might want to pass on seeing this one.

The name escapes me now but I dont think Eyes Wide Shut is from P.Dick. I think it was adapted from Traumnovelle(sp?) by Arthur Scnitzzler(sp?). "Climb in my fur."

With all those special affects it was very hard to listen or even notice.

"All the special effects?" There were only 455 effects shots. Compare that to the over 2,000 of Star Wars or the 700 some from Titanic.

Dag! At least I heard, or even noticed the music in Titanic! [This message was edited Fri Feb 7 18:01:36 PST 2003 by Starmist7]

Saw it yesterday, and I really really liked it. Having suffered through Star Wars (beyond horrible) and Spiderman (well, o.k., I liked it, sort of) I was just relieved to see something that wasn't embarrassed to be serious. The plot had a few giant holes (like the Precrime building wouldn't have deleted Anderton's eyeball pattern from the approved list - ya, just walk right on in there!! Even the feds ain't that dumb) but I dug it; specially the chase sequence. That was cool. Second half was kinda slow... but, compared to Lucas' piece of dog shit this was Citizen Kane.
