BADDEST MUSICAL FAMILY OF ALL TIME: Jacksons vs. Isleys Here are two of the most, if not THE most, talented musical families of all time. Which do you prefere and/or believe is more talented and why? Personally, I much prefere the Isley Brothers ... Six decades of classics from oldies, to Motown to soul to rock to funk to contemporary R&B. Ronald is one of the all-time best singers and Ernie is one of the all-time best guitar players. There are a lot of other great bands out there with some relatives involved, but usually it is a pair of brothers or something not quite to extent of the Jacksons and Isleys. So who do you think is the most talented musical family and why???

No doubt about it they are both great, legends at what they do but it is THE JACKSON family or THE ISLEY family.
While the Isley have been out 10= years longer, the Jacksons have sold waaaaayyyyy better.  It's okay that you think that, but you're wrong (at least as far as the R&B chart is concerned). The Isley Brothers rank #9 on the alltime R&B chart list and the Jacksons are somewhere around #30. Both acts started out with a sound that was molded by the studio and eventually came into their own. Musically speaking, I think the Isleys cannot be touched by the Jacksons. Ernie would whoop Tito's ass on the guitar.  If we're talking recognition, it's the other way around. I like both, but I think the Isleys are a tighter group.

paging blackquitaristz As much as I ADORED the J5 when I was little, there really is no comparison between the two families. The Isleys were legendary BEFORE they jumped into their dominance in the 70's. MJ, although not the only talented sibling, i.e., Jermaine, Randy, it is Mike that stood head and shoulders above the rest of the family. Not so with the Isleys.
