who has seen the movie rent? I never saw the broadway show and i enjoyed the movie. What did you think about the actors in the movie, i thought that rosario dawson did a wonderful job in it. I read a article that said they wanted to put justin timberlake, usher and christina aguilera in it. Spike lee was supposed to direct that version of it, but the movie studio gave it to chris columbus.

That's sort of correct. Spike Lee was set to direct, and was in the midst of casting his film when the studio put it on the backburner. This was about 2 or 3 years ago. I don't think any teenyboppers were attached at that point. They decided on Chris Columbus after the fact.
