Slave = 1977 Aurra = 1979 Those two are my favorites I love their first album, but it's clear on there that they were heavily influenced by Ohio Players. There's a family connection there, if I'm remembering correctly what Paligap mentioned before. The whole Slave album is superb funk. Screw Your Wig on Tite is always the one I play the loudest. Their sound changed once Arrington came on board. They were still a great funk band, but their sound took on a smoother R&B edge, courtesy of Arrington and Starleana. Both eras have a great sound, but very different from one another on some level. I recently picked this one up, and I'm loving it: | |
