Favorite Slave Outlets

The FUNK group hade some very talented members who branched off to do their own things, what is your favorite Slave outlet.

Slave = 1977

Aurra = 1979

Young & Company = 1981

Steve Arrington's Hall of Fame = 1983

Steve Arrington = 1985

Deja = 1987

Starleana Young = 1991

Those two are my favorites smile I love their first album, but it's clear on there that they were heavily influenced by Ohio Players. There's a family connection there, if I'm remembering correctly what Paligap mentioned before. The whole Slave album is superb funk. Screw Your Wig on Tite is always the one I play the loudest. biggrin Their sound changed once Arrington came on board. They were still a great funk band, but their sound took on a smoother R&B edge, courtesy of Arrington and Starleana. Both eras have a great sound, but very different from one another on some level.

I recently picked this one up, and I'm loving it:
