Just one by some of my favorite artists

(I think I'm a little addicted to sad songs)
sad

Janis Ian: At 17
Babs: The way we were
Annie: 1000 beautiful things
Lara Fabian: You're not from here
Tori: Baker baker
ABBA: The winner takes it all
George: I can't make you love me
Janet: Come back to me
Michael: Ain't no sunshine
Olivia: I honestly love you
Prince: Dreamin' bout you
Culture Club: Time (clock of the heart)
Sheena: Almost over you
Whitney: I will always love you
Cyndi: Eventually
India.Arie: Good man
Mariah: Butterfly
Madonna: Love tried to welcome me
Anastacia: The saddest part

well, I think my list is pretty gay... lol

The one song that can bring tears to my eyes is "when will i see you again" by the three degrees. That song kills me.

You've come to ask the right person!

I usually wouldn't endorse the Nine Inch Nails, or Johnny Cash either for that matter, BUT both artist have astonishing, devastating versions of a song called "Hurt". I think that track has changed a lot of people's lives.

The Cure is a goldmine for depressive songs. My first recommedations would be "Out Of This World", "Untitled" and perhaps "To Wish Impossible Things". "Letter To Elise" on the other hand is one of the most strangely depressive songs ever, altough its just a pretty pop song on the surface.

... Or if you want to go down all the way, I'd recommend you'd order several titles of dark ambient / death industrial music from, say, www.coldmeat.se wink

Actually, you're probably right but I always saw the second side of Hounds Of Love as someone going through a nightmare (sort of) and The Morning Fog is waking up to find everything is alright. The music is so bright and melodic.

My depressed songs would be

I Know It's Over - The Smiths
Lay Me Low - Nick Cave
I Can't Make It Alone - Dusty

Just loop that song. I guarantee you it will turn any mood you may be in directly towards the border. Beautiful song, one of my faves, but damn you'll start crying about people/things you not only lost, but never knew or had.
