With Limewire you really gotta be smarter about what you click on. Tons of viruses.

i've had limewire for almost a year and i've never had problems with it...it must be because of the files you're downloading, because limewire itself is virus-/spyware-free.

it's easy to tell the decoys from the legit files though...i get mostly songs from limewire, i don't bother with downloading programs from there.

I'm on a prgram that pretty much has the best you can get. Most of the people I talk with on there have stuff directly from bit torrent.. way ahead of the rest..

With songs I've been fine so far, I haven't noticed or sen anything unusual. I've tried to get some programs but they were stopped midway with a warning, therfore I deleted it. It should have a virus detection system in it now which hopefully prevents them from getting through, check for the newer version.

yea, I suggested we start a dc++ group consisting of org members or some sort of private forum where we can share boots.

Try and get LimeWire Pro if you can. It filters out a lot more of the "fake files" , i.e when you download a song, try to open it and it's actually a virus. I use LW Pro and have no problems.

That I agree with.

I definitely have to be cautious whenever I use Limewire.

I always get a warning from Limewire that the file that I'm attempting to download is corrupted and do I want to continue the download. I'm using a Mac and I've never had a big problem with Limewire. I did download a bit torrent fileshare yesterday and my mac went haywire later that night when I turned it on. Had to go through tech support - an almost hour long phone call - to get it running again...Never had a problem with my mac - a powermac G5 - before...

I love LimeWire. I can get a song in like 4 minutes and shit. And it'll tell me if I'm downloading a corrupt file and ask me if i want to continue or trash it. I do miss kazaa though. i got a SHIT-LOAD of boots from there. If I typed in "Prince" in the search, and left it over night, the next morning there were TONS of boots on there. I'm liking bit-torrent too. I got a lot of hard to find sentai on there.
