He may not be a "singer" but LL Cool J is the best musician/actor out there now...

Do you really think so? To me, Foxx, Mos Def and others are far better, taking nothing away from LL.

If we include voice work, he's in one of my favorite movies - The Iron Giant.

Okay okay so my off the cuff answer was Will Smith. However, I rethought this and came up with 4 others who I would pick along with him, they are as follows:

Michael Jackson (in Moonwalker & Ghosts)

Billy Joel
Yes the piano man himself did the voice for Dodger in Disney's remake of "Oliver's Twist." It was called "Oliver and Company." I loved Billy Joel in that movie and his song "Why Should I Worry" is awesome.

Michael Damian
He is one of my top 3 favorite singers and he did all those many years as an actor on the soap opera, "The Young And The Restless." He has also appeared in some cool movies along the way. He is totally one of my favorites.

Lastly...

John Stamos
He did all those years on "Full House" but his remake of "Forever" was neat and I think on that show he did tons of Elvis covers, which were good.

Yeah, i think that`s always been an obstacle for her, yet she is one of the few recording artists who has won an oscar.
It seems like people just can`t take her seriously.

Quick fact: "In a recent poll, A&E's Biography Magazine ranked her as people's Number 3 favorite actress of all time
behind her two Hollywood idols, Katharine Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn"

She's clearly the best actress from the singers performing during the 80's and 90's

Frank was a really great dramatic actor in the late 40's to the early 60's. Everything up to The Manchurian Candidate is a great place to start. I am not a fan of his rat pack films.

She's alright, I guess. The thing is, people like Will & Latifah, they play themselves on screen. Even in Chicago, she was playing a variant of her image.

You're really right. I just can't think of someone who can top her.

Cher because she plays characters. She's the one. BTW, Queen Latifah's new movie looks kind of interesting...It seems like she begins out playing a maid and not a wild one at that until she realizes she has so long to live (or something like that). Looks different and kind of like a romantic comedy..she might show off those acting chops yet (I think she is a good actress, BTW and probably can do different characters but probably choses not to because the movies she does know are more profitable).

That's very impressive especially since most of her best work was focused in about 5 years in the eighties (1982-87).

Too bad she hasn't done the right kind of por... I mean movie yet.

Well, she`s done musicals, miniseries, christmas movies and commercials, so who knows what`s next...

It's not a matter of what's next...it's who will hire her. Every year, VH1 shows yet another spin on "A Christmas Carol" with Vanessa as a pop singer and it's really funny and over the top and probably the last thing resembling a movie she's done. What she needs is to get a good acting role...something other than somebody's wife!

His portrayal of Pontius Pilate in The Last Temptation of Christ was arguably the most accurate of all such portrayals on film or TV.

David Bowie is an good actor, but i don`t like most of his movies. I found "Just a gigolo" on ebay, but i still haven`t watched it all the way through, after 10 minutes i had enough. There`s plenty of crappy movies from the 70s, but "The man who fell to earth" is horrible. I haven`t seen "Merry christmas Mr. Lawrence" or "Labyrinth", which probably are his best movies.
