The best singer/actor combo?

Okay so in this day and age if you "make it big" as an actor or singer, it is a big deal. You get the VIP treatment. Heck, you get the VIP lifestyle.

So the ultimate for any "celebrity" would be to have 2 areas of "income."

With all the above in mind, who do you guys think is the best singer/actor or actress?

Anyone from Will Smith to Jennifer Lopez. Anyone from Madonna to Eve.

What do YOU think?

My vote goes for:

Mr. "Men In Black" Will Smith.

None. I honestly don't think anyone today does both well enough to qualify. You used to do both because you had the talent, now you do both because you can sell.

She's alright, I guess. The thing is, people like Will & Latifah, they play themselves on screen. Even in Chicago, she was playing a variant of her image.

You're really right. I just can't think of someone who can top her.

Yeah, I'd probably go with her, too. I watched What's Up, Doc? again the other night - what a great performance.

I think Cher is the one who has had the most success as a singer-turned-actress

Though less successful, I think Tom Waits is gifted at both acting & singing/songwriting.

nod I'd agree, but many here would beg to differ. lol Current stars? I dunno. Hard to pick one. I'm not fond of Jamie Foxx as a singer or actor, but that's just me.

Neither was Latifah until recent, but she made the list. Or Mos Def. AND Will Smith.

Yeah, i think that`s always been an obstacle for her, yet she is one of the few recording artists who has won an oscar.
It seems like people just can`t take her seriously.

Quick fact: "In a recent poll, A&E's Biography Magazine ranked her as people's Number 3 favorite actress of all time
behind her two Hollywood idols, Katharine Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn"
