Outrageous CD prices for Out Of Print (OOP) titles

There are so many CDs that are out of print, which means you cannot order a new copy anymore because the record company is no longer manufacturing it.

What out of print (OOP) titles are you searching for, and how much does it cost?

I might pay over $100 for a 1984 rap CD that's factory sealed in its original longbox. I'm so tempted!

Any sealed longbox fetches big bucks, so pick it up if you see it for a bargain!

Yeah I still don't have that disc, for that reason.

I did shell out (not that much though) for Vanity 6.

I know a store in Indiana that have many sealed longboxes. I should stop and check it out whenever I go back.

I had a Morris Day cd in a longbox but somehow it disappeared.

I have sealed ones for Control and Rhythm Nation.

That was her first CD single release in the US, and a 3'' no less (not a popular format for the US). MJ has a lot of very collectable 3'' CD-singles from the States, too.

I thought they stopped making them!

I thought longboxes were designed to fit music stores who still had vinyl bins and not CD shelving.

It's odd, but some labels still produce them although they are very limited pressings these days. There's one for the clean version, too.

I know a lot of people look for the original mid-80's US pressings of all the old Motown albums. They have been reissued in the UK as two-fers but there are still a few that are not available anywhere.

Usually, when I break down and pay something outrageous prices for OOP titles, the labels re-issue it within six months of my purchase... disbelief

Off topic, but have you heard "This Is Sick" by Solid Groove? It samples Janet's voice from the intro of "All Nite (Don't Stop)".
