i can dream about you-dan hartman

if anyone recalls the movie "streets of fire", there was a cool r&b joint in there called "i can dream about you" by dan hartman. i like how those brothas including a young jerri-curled robert townsend, were performing it but i had no idea it was a white guy behind it. lol

love that song. Dan is one of my fav producers. His solo albums are cool too.

Anyone remember "we are the young"? Awesome song. Also "fletch (get outta town)" rocks.

I need to watch "streets of fire" again. Such a cool looking movie.

Worse yet, didn't he die last year or recently? I love that song even now, it was and is sweet to sing.

Not sure if he was gay, but he died back in 1994.

Yeah, title song, living in america and my personal fav, "Lets get personal" are very cool

Dan's last songs were for ninja turtles soundtracks (both good dink donky synth pop though-most things he produced were hot)

Also wrote theme song for the guys next door. I want his instrumental album.

he appears everywhere. Gotta blast "fletch (get outta town)" on bus to wake me up sometimes.

a little trivia about this song:

Dan Hartman originally wrote this song for Hall and Oates. He had no intention of recording it himself. He wanted H & O to record it,but at the time, they weren't interested. Finally last year,Hall and Oates recorded it for their 'Our Kind Of Soul' CD,but they changed some of the lyrics.
