That mask is his crucifix though. He branded himself with it forever. Like ZZ Top and the Beards. Part of me thinks why that's why he will never obtain superstar musician status because he can never achieve that with the mask because it's off settling to so many people. And it doesn't help that it looks like Michael Myers sort of.

Oh well...at least he will put out records.

Buckethead has never really attempted to gain superstar status. Even the brief stint wit GnR was more of a short-term monetary gain than an attempt at stardom. Being able to just record whatever you want, and play whenever you want, with whoever you want is still a very rare thing in the music industry. Remember, Buckethead fought with Sony on what would have been his FIRST major label release (Giant Robot) over song content, which pretty much kept him out of the big leagues for years. Sony Japan released it, but it was kept out of the states until what, 2000 or so?

Anyway, this dvd is awesome! Well worth the big bucks on eBay, BUT it is also worth the wait. The 2 shows are great, but the all the other clips and history make this a phenomenal set.

Make sure to snatch up a copy of Inbred Mountain as well, if you get the chance. I beleive TDRSMusic might have (or be getting) some tour leftovers. Out of the 4 Buckethead releases that came out in the last quarter of this year (5 if you count the latest Cornbugs reissue) it is by far the best.

Yea, I need to get Inbred Mountain and Gorgone. It's a shame that Bootsy and Buckethead havent done a full length project since 1993. Yea I thought Enter the Chicken was light. I thought Serj was making his crossover Nu Metal album attempt at producing that. I really thought Kaleidoscalp was ill.

Matter of fact Im going to listen to Kaleidoscalp RIGHT now. I'm still hoping in 06 that Bootsy and Bucket decide to do something.

You know what would be one of the craziest joint ventures? If MF Doom and Buckethead were to do a project together. Because of the masks and the status they have. I dunno I just think it's a ill idea. I bet you MF Doom would do it in a heartbeat. Seems to me with the rise of Linkin Park and Jay Z and even Mike Shinoda. Just seems to me timing is right for that kind of union where 5 years ago it wouldn't have been possible. Maybe Mike Shinoda could produce it. I think I will post that up on B Board at the home site.

I do not like this album that Serj produced. I like about 3 tracks. For some reason Serj picked alot of these Nu metal vocalists. The best contribution was with this arabic singer named Azeem Ali and this other female vocalist. There's something about Nu metal. Their distortion and their dynamics and chord changes are all the freaking same. It's just so generic and mundane. It's like listening to one bad horror movie music soundtrack.
