Your favorite supporting vocalists

You know, not the lead singer, but the other member or members of the group that occasionally approaches the mike to state their case. I know the focus is usually on the lead singer, but sometimes someone else in the gruop has something to say. Here are my faves:

Mick Jones - The Clash
Neil Finn - Split Enz
Martin Gore - Depeche Mode
Curt Smith - Tears For Fears
Mike Lindup - Level 42
Bobby Brown - New Edition
Jane Wiedlin - The Go-Go's
Billy Beck - Ohio Players
Peter Tosh - The Wailers
Matt Safer - The Rapture
Brenda Bennett - Vanity 6
Neville Staples - The Specials
Gerry Casale - Devo
James DeBarge - DeBarge
Kim Deal - The Pixies
Ranking Roger - The English Beat
Keith Richards - Rolling Stones
Jermaine Jackson - Jackson 5
Chas Smash - Madness
Lisa Coleman - Wendy & Lisa
Andy Gill - Gang of Four
Flava Flav - Public Enemy
Paul Rutherford - Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Ron Strykert - Men At Work
Colin Moulding - XTC
Phillip Bailey - Earth, Wind & Fire
Susanne Sulley and Joanne Catherall - Human League
Beej Chaney - The Suburbs
Phil Collins - Genesis (when Peter Gabriel was the lead singer)
Eddie Lundon - China Crisis
Kate Pierson & Cindy Wilson - The B-52's

Aren't some of those artist you named co-lead vocalist.

Jermaine was co-lead not a supporting vocalist. He had about 4 solos on early J5 records.

I would call Jackie a supporting vocalist. He never had any lead vocals on J5 tracks but you could here him on I Want You BAck, Mama's Pearl, Corner of the Sky and others.

Same with Philip Baily

Brian McKnight in "Whenever you call" - Mariah Carey
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don“t like the idea that he could have it all."
