The Whitestripes - My Doorbell......

My favourite song of 2005.....cant put my finger on but this song has got some real old school prince spirit to it! its funky without stinking to the funk formula of instruments. That kick drum and piano - what a beauty!

Yea it cool, but they release another song after this and it sounded just the same, so it put me off buying the album!

Those are the only songs like that on the album though. They aren't actually very simlilar either, just the beat.

The White stripes are brilliant.
The guitar version of My Doorbell does sound 10x better more edgy esp.live
but Blue Orchid is one of the best tunes ever.
Jack White is so talented he's got the funk and he rocks!

Yeah, he's really good, but don't they have him higher than Van Halen? That list is highly dubious, I think Cobain (who's music I also love) is way up there above guys like David Gilmour.

this was Rolling Stone's list, so you know how that goes. lol As far as Kurt Cobain, R.S has to put of saviour of the new generation high on the list to please everyone....particularly their core readers.

You're right, and since Van Halen aren't cool right now...

I think Kurt was a good guitar player--not many guys could be the only guitar player and also sing for a hugely successful band--but I think even he'd laugh at being ranked anywhere on that list.

Jack White should be much higher than #17, most def would put him in the top 5 especially higher than Kurt Cobain. Kurt Cobain wasnt that great he needs others behind him and his lyrics werent that great either. but Jack White can carry it all on his own and sound like a 5 piece band with no problems and sing cool lyrics and sounding awesome. saw him doing a live gig on TV once and he reminded me a bit of Jimi, it blew me away. he dont need no props just a backing beat (Meg white) and his guitar.
