The only two albums I owned by Mary were What's the 411 and My Life. While I liked some singles off the other CDs it wasn't enough for me to buy the album. Mary's always been a bit much for me--a bit too much drama, a bit off key, a bit loud, a bit too made up or what have you. I don't dislike her, she just isn't my cup of tea so I like this album. Maybe it's her new outlook coming through. Father In You is one of my favorite songs.
I knew it would do well the first week but over 700K is great for her. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Diddy...It's sales where damn near ground breaking, something like 727,000! That has to be near a record of some sort. And it thought the release date seemed rushed after the rumours of the greatest hits album (which I can't wait for). I don't own any of her albums but I might check this one out.
I'm not sure if it's a record single week sales for her, but that is an impressive number for this album. We'll see if it holds up. I would guess not, but who knows. I'd be very surprised if that isn't a record for her. I was thinking it might be a record for a female artist, but I think Britney's 2nd sold over a million it's frist week (I also think Lauryn Hill and Alanis had huge numbers for albums they released). It might be a Christmas record...I figured by late November, all the big albums had been released and that most major artist should wait until well into the next year to release their albums but i guess I was wrong.

Yes, but not so close to Christmas. Confessions on a Dance Floor was to be a "blockbuster."
