i don't own every album, nor am i claiming to be their biggest fan; however, i've always enjoyed their music. and personally i think they had a more interesting sound than a couple other "influential" bands that most rave about. displaying raw emotion and depth that was lacking for me in those other bands.
perhaps that has something to do with Jim Morrison's 'dark' moods. and his on stage persona/performance is unparalleled. i think the movie "Lost Boys" is was made really sit up and listen. they made some great fuckin' music!!!

since i've never seen an appreciation thread for them on here, i thought i'd give them their overdue 'props'. anyone else a fan of this great band?

I know their hits but I never owned any Doors records.

The only Doors album I have in my collection would have to be The Best Of The Doors CD. I really don't plan on getting too far into their catalogue, but I have to admit that I did love Oliver Stone's biopic on them. Did anyone else love that film?

Val Kilmer definitely did a pretty good job potraying Jim. The scene the depicts the imfamous Miami concert where Jim lost his mind is mindblowing. Rent that film because it was pretty incredible although it really focused on Jim's persona and personal demons.
