Dr. Dre & Eminem used for torture Dr. Dre And Eminem Music Allegedly Used To Torture Victims In Secret Prison
21/12/2005 6:00:00 PM (ChartAttack) Songs by Dr. Dre and Eminem were allegedly used as part of a torture regime in a secret U.S.-operated prison in Afghanistan. Despite the ban on western music that went into effect in Iran this week, hip-hop has spread around the globe — apparently even into secret prisons near Kabul, Afghanistan. Human rights advocacy group Human Rights Watch claims that the U.S. operated a secret prison near the capital of Afghanistan from 2002 to 2004 that kept detainees chained to walls, deprived of food and drinking water, immersed in darkness for weeks on end and forced to listen to continuous loud heavy metal and rap music, including songs by American hip-hop kings Dr. Dre and Eminem. Some of the detainees are now being held in the U.S.-run prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and their lawyers have relayed accounts of torture from their clients to Human Rights Watch since the American government has banned human rights organizations from visiting detention centres where suspected terrorists are being held. Benyam Mohammad, an Ethiopian-born man who grew up in Britain and is now being held in Guantanamo Bay, described his experience in the Afghan "dark prison" this way: "There was loud music, [Eminems] Slim Shady and Dr. Dre for 20 days... [Then] they changed the sounds to horrible ghost laughter and Halloween sounds."

I think these artists aimed to make really hard music though.
It would be a slam if they tortured people with music that aimed to soothe, like Enya.

It would be a slam if they tortured people with music that aimed to soothe, like Enya. Do ya think tho, their intention when writing/producing the music was to have it used as a tool of torture. What about permanent ear-drum damage, like inner ear hemorraging. We are so lucky to live in these times and in a country where the term torture cannot be defined by personal experience. I don't know.... hard music.....in the final analysis, any kind of music or sound raised to a high enough decibal can be used for torture. I guess the point is: why subject anyone to prolonged pain. I'm sure Dr. Dre and Eminem feel bad about this. condoning wrong or making light of human suffering is apathetic madness. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive and maybe wiggin, trippin, or whatever, but this is a serious issue. i love you for who you are, not the one u feel u need to be.

It's different for everybody. Rap is obviously "noise" in their opinion. My version of "noise" would be heavy metal, that shit would literally drive me insane.
