Syreeta - Stevie Wonder Presents

In print.

lol Yeah I know now. That one was one of my "holy-grails". After I spent $100 on the OOP 1994 issue within 6 months Hip-O Select made that one of the first Motown reissues for $19.99

evillol I've had that happen too many times, too (though I haven't spent $100 on one yet).

OMG you guys

The Ronettes Featuring Veronica

The vinyl itself is a hugely-sought-after rarity, but it was issued on CD in Japan for a hot second back in '92 or so.

I saw this mentioned on your site and had been looking for the "Start Anew" 7" for years. I finally found a copy (of the 7") a few months ago. I don't think it fits in the middle of the 'Control' album. It sounds much more like 'Dream Street' Janet.

Yeah, it was recorded for a Japanese TV show in 1985. Not part of the Control sessions. I still like the track, though. music It's awesome you were able to find the 7''!

The New Power Generation: Gold Nigga (16 track) - $100-$200
Y Kant Tori Read - Y Kant Tori Read - $200-$300

There might be a few others, but those are the big two.

That's one I almost spent crazy money on and saw Hip-O's release schedule just in time. Supposedly the rest of Eddie's albums will be available in '06.

I agree, but it really is from the Control sessions.

Oh, apparently it's not!

One of my friends bought this on its initial release. It's an interesting album - really weird sound for her though.

Anxiety

i've snagged some pricey OOP titles from eBay, and i've never paid over 20 bucks. the key is to be patient and sooner or later you'll hit an auction that everyone else is sleeping on. that's how i manage it. nod

There is an unreleased track from the Control sessions called "You Stole My Heart". Janet talked about it in an issue of Black Beat from 1986 (August or September issue, I forget which).

There is also a track called "Love Is Blue" that was left off her debut album. It got a mention in an MJ trivia book, oddly enough, from the early 80's.

What kills me is I let a copy of the promo 12" with the 7" version on one side and 12" version on the other get away on ebay for relatively cheap. (Or at least it sold for a cheap price. I don't know what the winner's max bid was.) All because I was at home at the time the auction ended and had to use my slow-ass dial-up Internet connection which made me miss the end of the auction. If I was using the T1 line at work, that wouldn't have happened. I ended up paying double the final bid for just the 7" a few weeks later. wall

Yeah, I only have the 7'', too. I've seen the 12'' on eBay a few times, but never would up getting it. It's a lot harder to find, I think. I did recently find a 12'' of "Don't Stand Another Chance" from Colombia, though - never saw it before. That's a great track, too.

I've heard a few tracks from it. The video for the single ("The Big Picture") gets played every so often on VH1 Classic and Tori has performed a track or two from it in concert. I could get a pirate copy for a reasonable price, but I don't do pirate copies. I'm so obsessive that all my CDs have to be originals.

You know what? I can understand the "originals" obsession. But for me, it's more that CD is my format of choice, so if I have to pay thru the nose for a collectable I do.

I'm not a fan of vinyl, either. A lot of newer DJ's prefer CD, too, it seems. I don't think vinyl will ever die, though.

What about those 'remastered' Apollonia 6 and Mazarati CDs selling on ebay? Would you accept those?

That was her first CD single release in the US, and a 3'' no less (not a popular format for the US).

Oh dear...

I have this but when I bought it, I cut the long bit off with a Stanley blade, so that it'd fit a space on my CD rack alongside all my other 3" CDs.

boxed
